Why Coworkers Don't Make Good Facebook Friends

Why Coworkers Don't Make Good Facebook Friends

Work life and Facebook it seems like a never-ending discussion topic nowadays. There are many things to consider in regards to your personal and career brand. Yet so many people are either unaware of them or do not fully understand the ramifications of the content they might share online. For millions of people, this includes sharing their page and their personal lives with their coworkers. Many people feel that coworkers are just buddies from work and all is well as long as the bosses arent their Facebook friends. If this describes your thoughts about coworkers as Facebook friends, you may be in for a rude awakening.

As a general rule of thumb, I advise people to not invite or accept coworkers as Facebook friends unless their posts, pictures, and videos are not deeply personal and are always clean, upbeat, and in good taste. Some people do choose to invite coworkers, managers, and other professionals because they are intentionally using Facebook to leverage their career brand. This is a great way to use Facebook and I highly encourage it.

However, my general rule applies to those who use Facebook moreso for personal use which seems to be the majority of people. It is for those who typically friend their coworkers without much thought. I recognize that your best friend and someone you trust with your life might be your coworker and Facebook friend. I am not necessarily talking about those people but moreso any coworker who does not fall in that best friend category. People who friend coworkers should be aware of the serious issues that could arise.

Does Your Facebook Content Look Like This?

*I hate Mondays!, Why am I at work when I would rather be somewhere else?, What a long day wish it was over, Not looking forward to going back to the grind tomorrow, Cant wait to the head to the bar to get my drunk on! Sometimes I just want to beat the crap out of people, I swear my life sucks, Why is everyone a backstabber? (or anything even remotely similar).

*Drama related content telling the world about your arguments with others or sharing details about all the different problems you might have.

*Arguing or using profane language.

*Videos, photos and articles that are in bad taste (profane or sexually explicit content).

*Liking pages that are in bad taste (ex: yourname likes I hate my job!)

Consider the Ramifications:

*Many employees talk and gossip on a regular basis. They cant help themselves. Who are they sharing your content with? Your boss? Another coworker who might share it with your boss? Maybe. How do you know they arent?

*A coworker might not intentionally share what you post but it gets out anyway due to frustration. Typical scenario: Boss asks your coworker to stay late to work on a project and to ask for your help. Coworker inadvertently says, She wont help, shes been posting all over Facebook how she cant wait to get out of here. The boss makes a mental note of it and considers that and other things he might have heard when evaluating your potential for advancement in the company. Potential leaders in a company should not be posting statements like that on Facebook! It gives the impression that they dont really like their job.

*A coworker Facebook friend gets promoted and now is your boss or is a manager elsewhere in the company a person who might now have a say about your future potential with the company. The facts are, you can be a model employee at work but people typically cannot separate what they learn about on you on Facebook from your great work on the job. Careless postings on Facebook can shatter your strong career brand no matter how great your performance is at work.

*You take a sick day. You go out to lunch and then check in at the restaurant on Foursquare, which subsequently posts on your Facebook page. Or maybe you just mention your lunch in an unrelated Facebook conversation that evening. Either way, your integrity is now in question. Situations like this can also cause you to be fired!

*You are at work doing your job. But throughout the day, your Facebook page is somehow publishing a stream of updates from Farmville, Mafia Wars, Frontierville and results from a few random quizzes. Your coworker Facebook friend notices this and talks about it at the water cooler. It eventually gets back to your boss. These kinds of things really do happen and this is another example of a situation that can cause you to be terminated from employment.
Its Time for Damage Control

I cant stress enough how important it is to be cautious about adding coworkers to your Facebook page. Consider how much easier and less stressful it would be to separate your personal life from your professional life!

If you have not been careful about the quality of your content and you have coworkers as Facebook friends, you should start doing a bit of damage repair.

It is not necessary to go in and unfriend your coworkers as they have already read your content. Your best course of action is to completely change your online image and work hard at reversing the damage for at least a month or two. Leverage yourself and post only high-level content that will change the perception that others (specifically, your coworkers!) have of you.

I do recommend deleting controversial content that already exists on your page. But spend the majority of your time concentrating on building a strong, positive image of you. Your coworkers will notice the change and their image of you will start to change. After a month or two, I would remove all your coworkers from your page and simply explain that you want to keep your personal and professional life separate. Trust me, having your coworkers trust and respect you is far more important than having them as Facebook friends!

From Bob Hope's very beginnings in radio, product association played an indispensable part in his career. The first in a long list of products with which he would be associated over the years was Pepsodent toothpaste.

Following glowing reviews in Paramounts Big Broadcast of 1938, the makers of Pepsodent offered Hope his own radio show to replace their sponsorship of the popular Amos n Andy Show. Hope had wanted to get into radio ever since his first appearance on Rudy Vallees Fleischmanns Yeast Hour earned him $700 for a two-minute interview. "This is my kind of business," he thought.

And prepare for it he did. Throughout the thirties, he appeared as a guest on radio shows including the Major Bowes Capitol Family Hour, the RKO Theater of the Air, the Bromo-Seltzer Intimate Hour and the CBS White Flash program sponsored by the Atlantic Oil Refining Company.

The offer from Pepsodent, which came as a result of his successful appearances on NBCs Woodbury Show with Frank Parker and the Shep Fields Orchestra, was his first real opportunity to host his own program. He was off and running.

He assembled a crack staff of veteran radio writers that included Milt Josefsberg, Norman Sullivan, and Jack Douglas, an experienced announcer named Bill Goodwin, an orchestra leader, Skinnay Ennis soon replaced by Les Brown and a walrus-mustached, former trombonist named Jerry (Greetings, Gate) Colonna.

Over the next few years, the cast would be joined by Patricia (Honeychile) Wilder, the musical group Six Hits and a Miss, society debutants Brenda and Cobina (Blanche Stewart and Elvia Allman), and Barbara Jo Allen as Vera Vague.

The Pepsodent Show debuted on September 27, 1938 and had all the earmarks of a hit. Unexpectedly, it got off to a rocky start. We really had no idea what we were doing, Hope admitted.

He told us it took ten or twelve weeks of tinkering with the format before he was satisfied with the laughs he was getting from the studio audience, many of whom he personally corralled in the hall outside his studio as they emerged from The Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy Show.

Radio was in its infancy. There was, as yet, no reliable method of measuring listenership. Later, the Hooper Ratings and the Crosleys, audience sampling systems similar to todays Neilsen Media Research, would be used to set advertising rates.

But when Hope began, the Hoopers were still a few years away, and while he was satisfied with the reactions of his studio audiences, he wondered how he and his on-air gang were doing in the hinterlands.

Whenever he approached executives at the ad-agency that represented Pepsodent, all he seemed to get was, Dont worry about it, Bob. Youre doing fine. Just keep doing what youve been doing. Somehow, he got the feeling they werent leveling with him.

One day, after the show had been on for almost a year, he was approached by a man on an exclusive country club golf course who had been playing in the foursome ahead of him. Bob, I want to thank you, said the man. Hope, thinking he was a fan, thanked him.

No, continued the man. I want to thank you for making me a millionaire. Of course, Hope had no idea what he was talking about.

It seems the golfer had owned a small cardboard-box factory that serviced many clients including Pepsodent. About six months ago, he explained, Pepsodent doubled their orders, then a week later, tripled them. Eventually, I dropped my other customers and provided boxes for your sponsor exclusively.

My company became so successful, I ended up selling it for a million dollars, thanks to you. Hope was stunned. No one at Pepsodents ad agency had mentioned such a large increase in their product sales.

Completely by accident, Hope had stumbled onto an audience gauge as accurate as the Hoopers would later become.

Hope smiled wryly as he concluded his story. We all sat mesmerized. Well? one of us asked, what did you do then? Lets just say, said Bob, when contract renewal time came along, I negotiated one of the biggest goddamned raises in the history of radio.

The persuasive power of the mass media to sell products couldnt have been driven home more forcefully, and Hope never forgot the lesson he learned from it.

Over the ensuing years, he would make sure that his name became aligned with major sponsors whose products he would hawk enthusiastically in countless TV commercials a practice that, early-on, some Hollywood stars of Hopes magnitude considered somehow degrading to their art. Later, of course, many of them would come around, lending their names to everything from beer to vacuum cleaners.

Along with Pepsodent, Hopes name would be linked with Chrysler and, later still, with Texaco, a relationship that culminated in 1974 in a five-year television production deal that netted Hope $4 million, a record at the time.

In 1979, he filmed commercials for Coca-Cola on the Great Wall of China. In the mid-1980s, he received $3 million from Southwestern Bell Telephone for a series of TV spots for their Silver Pages that took him just three days to film.

He appeared in numerous locally produced commercials for California Federal Savings & Loan, in which he was a major stockholder.

Fittingly, his final appearance on television, at age 95, was in a commercial for Kmart directed by Penny Marshall.

Why are Springer Spaniels Funny

Why are Springer Spaniels Funny

Image source: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/de/2c/bc/de2cbc5640e5b2f4187186edc197a4a6--sprocker-spaniel-springer-spaniel-puppies.jpg

Springer spaniels - both English and Welsh - are widely agreed to be fun-loving animals. There are many pictures posted online of these dogs 'springing'. Their name comes from the way they flush game birds from cover. They surprise the birds on the ground, and as the bird takes flight the springer spaniels jump into the air to try to catch the bird, though they never do! They are recognised for their fun loving, hence the very large number of searches online for funny springer spaniels.

Springing is in Their Genes

Before they spring, they have to locate the game, and they do this using their excellent noses and hunting ability. From the time of being small pups, they are searching with their noses. As the pup develops, it is important not to dampen this trait that they have and to let them wander off and seek. Their loyalty will bring them back. Their excellent noses mean that they are widely used by armed forces and police forces as sniffer dogs. They just love sniffing around!

They Love to Retrieve

Because they love to retrieve, they are always returning with sticks - a swim in the river or sea will rarely see them returning without something in their jaws, ready for a throw and a fetch and barking for action. They are always active, ready and willing to hunt and fetch. With a little preparation, this can lead to a lot of fun for dog and owner alike.

Provided they have been trained by an enthusiastic owner who can inject some excitement into the command 'fetch' then treasure hunts using old socks or gloves will give them hours of fun. When you go walking, take a couple of these 'dummies' with you. As you walk, hide them in bushes or under behind trees. As you return, then send your springer ahead with command 'fetch', and watch him go seeking the dummies.

Intelligent

Although some of the things they do might seem crazy, they are very intelligent and sensitive to mood and moment and will get infected by family fun and laughter. I have a picture of one of my daughters at the age of 3, sitting in the dog basket and sharing a tub of dairy cream with Jasper, an English Springer. Both of them were plastered with the double cream.

They Love Water and Mud

They are water lovers and mud lovers, as befits hunting dogs. It can be very annoying at times when they find a patch of muck and come back pleased with themselves having rolled in it. But on reflection it does make you laugh, simply because to them it is such fun. I can remember recalling one of my dogs late one summer evening - he was swimming in the harbour on the last of the outgoing tide - he came back running through the harbour mud. Moments like this seem trivial, and yet they stick in my mind as very happy memories of fun loving dogs, even though I was very cross at the time!

So, yes, springer spaniels are great fun but you do have to be prepared for the muck and the cleaning up. Always wear old clothes when walking them, and keep a couple of blankets or an old tarp ready in your truck or car for the inevitable dirty dog or clean wet dog.

A search online will quickly turn up some great pictures of these dogs having fun. For me, they are the best all-round breed there is, combining a compact size with intelligence and loyalty, and of course, the infectious ability to have fun!

Why a Logo Maker Is a Must for Advertising

Why a Logo Maker Is a Must for Advertising

Studies have shown that children are more apt to recognize Ronald McDonald than famous figures such as Jesus!

The power of a logo is immeasurable.

We can see an advertisement and instantly know the brand simply by looking at their logo. And sometimes a logo is so well-known our brains even see certain colors in an advertisement and we know the brand immediately.

Have you ever questioned whether or not a logo is necessary for the success of your brand? Having trouble figuring out where to even point your compass?

Were here to help you figure all of that out.

Read on to learn why a logo maker is a must-have for advertising.

Youll look professional

Trying to create your own logo in Microsoft Word just wont do.

Youll look like an amateur, and your customers will take notice. Thankfully, there are online tools you can use to ensure that your image looks completely professional and put together.

With your own professional logo, youll stand out among your competitors and look legitimate. Plus, your customers will take your brand as a serious contender among the other brands. Printed materials and websites with your logo will let potential customers know that youre reputable in your industry.

Creating your own logo with clip art and the like will scream to your potential customers that youre not at all serious about your business. Also, it may convey that youre not as established.

Are you wanting to make your brand look professional? You need to consult in an expert logo maker to really polish off your companys logo.

Youll be remembered

Remember how we said more kids can identify Ronald McDonald than most famous figures? That same theory also works with adults.

We are a very visual society. Dont you remember using flashcards with pictures to remember the alphabet? Putting an image to a name helps us remember things we may otherwise forget.

Thats why having an image as a face to your brand is so important. Using a logo maker to create that face, you can establish recognition to your customers and future customers.

People may not always remember your brands name. They may not even remember your slogan. But chances are they will always remember your image.

Your logo will showcase your brands values

Whats your companys core values and goals? Stamping your companys mission statement on every advertisement may work in some places, but a logo will work better.

Your logo should and will encompass all of your values.

Need some help thinking how you can incorporate your values within a simple logo? Think of the sports authority Adidas. Their well known three slash symbol means more than many people know.

The three slashes represent the figurative mountains that athletes need to climb in order to achieve greatness. Pretty neat, right?

Almost all the marks you see in advertisements mean far more than meets the eye.

When you think of your logo as more than just a logo, youll find it easier to come up with a way to showcase your values and goals.

Remember that your logo is your brands identity. So it should be something that truly reflects how youd like your company to be viewed by your customers.

Youll connect with your customers

Weve established that your customers will take notice when you add a logo. But using a professional logo maker to create your brands logo will also connect with your customers.

Connect on a personal level

You build a personal relationship with your customers when you incorporate a logo. Its like adding a face to a name. Youre making a first impression with everyone who views your brand and its products. So make sure that your brand is well dressed and put together.

When youre creating your face with a logo maker, ask yourself questions as if you were a customer. Some things to think about when creating a logo:

What emotions will this logo stir up?
Is this memorable? Does the brand stand out against other competitors?
Is this relevant to our companys products or services?

Think outside of the box

Did you know that things like fonts and colors can play into how youd like your brand to come across to customers? And believe it or not, they can influence how they feel.

Some ways that colors change how we feel when we see a brand:

Yellow The color yellow represents the sun and joy. Your customers will feel happy and excited when they see the color yellow within your logo.

Green This color is associated with the colors of nature. It makes customers feel calm and relaxed. They will also feel that your brand is trustworthy.

Purple Purple equates to royalty when people see it incorporated into a brand. This color will make your customers feel nostalgic or romantic.

Orange This color also represents happiness and sunshine. Want to add this color to your brands logo? This color will make your customers feel creative and enthusiastic!

Black This color gives a mysterious vibe. Use this color if you want your customers to identify with your formal side.

Make sure youre focusing on your brands demographic

When youre using a logo maker, you want to make sure that youre creating a logo that speaks to your demographic.

Creating a logo that resonates with your millennial target group may differ from a logo created for a brand targeted more towards baby boomers. So youd think of a more modern look for the millennials, and maybe a more vintage or classic look for the latter.

Your logo makes things official

Your professional logo created with a logo maker doesnt only affect your marketing plan. It also makes a difference on the legal front as well.

While you legally dont need a branded logo, its best to go ahead and legalize your brand officially. And creating a trademark or a logo is the best way to keep you and your brand safe.

Lets put it into perspective for you. Imagine that youve spent a ton of time (and money!) creating an awesome logo for your brand. Lets say that you start plastering this logo all over your website, products, and marketing materials.

And then you find out your logo is already being used by another company. And they have it registered with the federal government.

Youre looking at a potential lawsuit. And this can also happen if the roles are reversed. You want to make sure that youre not wasting precious time and money working and using a logo thats already being used.

And you also want to make sure your logo is protected so no one else can use your logo.

Seeing forfeit logos not only stinks, it makes your brand look cheap. Plus, having an official logo will make your company look reputable and established.

Go ahead and take the extra steps to get your brands logo completely official. All the effort will be worth it in the long run.

Logos are easy

You may be thinking, But creating one is really hard! It is, and it also isnt. Its true that logos can be difficult to come up with. But thats because theyre so important to the success of your brand.

However, logos are easy because you dont have to spend a ton of time and words to get your message across. A well thought out logo created with a logo maker will allow you to convey your message with just a simple image.

Theyre also easy because these logos are easy to place on things like pamphlets, receipts, products, and more. And the more you use them, the easier it will be for your customers to recognize your brand instantly.

Use a logo maker to create your new logo

Did you know that Twitters iconic blue bird logo only cost them $15? Some other companies have paid millions of dollars to get the best logo money can buy. But Twitter is just one of the many examples that prove you dont have to spend an arm and a leg.

While you may think that your new logo may cost you half your budget, youve never been more mistaken!

Once you have some idea of how youd like your logo to look, youre able to create your own for free. And while you could pay a professional the big bucks to create your brands face, why would you?

Our free online logo maker is designed to help you create something awesome. You can upload your own images or look through hundreds of our specially customized photos. There are plenty of graphics that will suit your business identity.

Easily add or remove text and switch up the colors however you see fit. Want to make changes later? You can. The easy to use interface allows you to make changes without having to know a ton about graphic design.

You may find yourself thinking, Wow, creating my own logo isnt as tough as I thought! Its really that easy.

Which Multimedia Projector Statistics Are Important

If you are interested in buying one of the many fresh multimedia projectors currently available, then you need in order to first think about precisely what you want to do using your projector in order to choose the best one. The kind of projector you should select will be extremely dependent on the amount of light you expect to be provided in the area you're using it within and the amount of transportability you are planning upon requiring from your projector. If you are a small business professional, you probably demand a projector that is made for a portable as well as diverse environment. If it is your situation, you need to be looking for goods that are very high quality, additional portable, and relatively cheap as effectively to fully enhance your presentations. Anyone that's considering a projector for their home theatre setup will take advantage of higher quality statistics. Great product statistics ensure that their particular projector can manage the images displayed by all types associated with movies.

If you have a projector that's ultra light, it is possible to easily transport your own projector to just about any desired location. If you are after for a projector that is perfect for home entertainment setups, then you will need to look at qualities such as lighting and resolution rather than the weight of the device.

When you have a great ultra light equipment though, you can transportation your product properly and easily constantly. If you feel that you will need better numbers in the appliance you use for your presentations, you should definitely look into the projector that keeps a high brightness amount to increase the visibility of your sales pitches.

If you are getting your projector for any setup where the lighting is completely controlled, you'll be able to probably get by using a 1,000 lumens projector. For all some other situations, it is highly recommended which you invest into the lighter products to ensure the images are always exhibited in a noticeable way.

1,000 lumens in a projector may be ideal for a small home theatre, because the lights are guaranteed to be dark, but in case you are purchasing a projector for presentations, you might consider investing right more expensive machine.

Also, the quality of the picture will be very dependent on the particular resolution level of the equipment you are making use of.

Where Do Guys Like to Be Touched

Where Do Guys Like to Be Touched

Unfortunately guys are not blessed with as many erotic points as girls are. They say that with a girl every part of her body can trigger wild sensations, if touched right, thats partly because girls are much more in touch with their bodies than guys are.

For some guys the only part of their body that stimulates them sexually is their penis, they almost seem numb to touching on any other part of their body. That being said, guys can get aroused at the drop of a hat with or without any touching. Guys are highly visual creatures, so what they see arouses them more than anything else, this is mostly the reason why guys like to have sex in light.

So what are the most common erotic points for guys?

The foreskin This is basically the skin covering their penis (if he is not circumcised). Most guys grow up stimulating themselves by working their foreskin back and forth, this is what makes it so sensitive to touch. All you need to do is touch the skin delicately or roughly with your hands to get him instantly stimulated. You can also pull the foreskin back and forth to pleasure him, with practice you will be able to determine if the guy likes delicate strokes or rough, most guys prefer a combination. Guys love to be touched on their foreskin even when their penis is not fully erect, you can either wrap your fingers around it or just tease it with a single finger.

The head of his penis This is true only when there is a full erection. There is nothing more sensitive than the bulbous head of his penis when its fully pumped and erect. There are several nerve ending that terminate on this bare head and this makes the area highly delicate and sensitive. Dont pinch or bite roughly around this area as it is likely to injure him. The best thing to do would be to touch gently with your fingers in a revolving motion.

The nipples Guys dont have sensitive nipples the way girls do but many find it pretty erotic to be sucked or touched around this area. You can pinch, twist or suck on his nipple to get him groaning out of pleasure. Using your fingers you can tease his nipples by circling around them. The tip of the nipple is quite sensitive for most guys and they find it very stimulating when a girl flicks her tongue over it.

The under thighs Most guys find it very sexual when a girl bites or touches them on the under part of their thighs close to their crotch. You can tease him by playing with his foreskin will you touch the under part of his thighs, this is bound to get some serious stimulation going for him. You can use your tongue around this region to send some erotic waves through him.

The butt Guys again are not as sensitive as girls when it comes to this region, but it definitely scores as a highly erotic area. Of course its even more erotic to touch him along the butt line. Some guys love it when a girl digs her finger nails into their butt cheeks.

The neck If you want to turn a guy on just kiss him passionately around the corner of his neck where it joins the shoulder. If you just touch around his neck with your fingers it quite unlikely that he will respond, but a wet kiss around this region is sure to get him fired. This is also a great area to plant some bites.

Quite frankly, the only area that guys would love you to place your attention would be their penis. All other areas can be neglected and they wouldnt care much, their main point of stimulation has always stood be just that one single mass of muscle. Use your hands and mouth skillfully around this region and you will have him groaning in no time.
